Job Summary
As a member of Apple’s Carrier Engineering Team, the Carrier Technical Lead is responsible for taking products through technical approvals with Wireless Carrier(s). This will include initiation of new technology trials and technical alignment meetings. The Carrier Technical Lead team is responsible for day-to-day technical interactions with the one or more carriers to track down issues reported by the carrier
Key Qualifications
Technical understanding and experience with GSM/GPRS, EDGE, CDMA and UMTS.
Knowledge of 3GPP signaling protocol stack including L1, RLC, MAC, RRC and MM layers.
Minimum of 3 years prior experience working on phones or similar products that operate on cellular networks.
Minimum of 2 years direct experience working with one or more carriers to deliver products that operate on their network including supporting lab testing at the carrier.
Demonstrable ability to quickly triage issues reported by carriers and ability to assist engineering teams in tracking down such issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Description

This role includes working with the engineering teams to design, and communicate status of all work taking place within those teams, as well as communicate with specific carriers in the region. Ability to drive initiatives, track issues and prioritize on a daily basis is a requirement.
